wePresent does not require every user to install software!! The MirrorOp software (Win/Mac) can be installed for ease of use and this is advised if you regularly use wePresent. However, MirrorOp can also be launched in different ways without software installation:
On every wePresent you can make a USB Plug & Show token.
Some wePresent models, have the option of a Downloadable Guest File.
Installer file, or Guest file
On the IP webpage of the wePresent unit, you will find the Installer and Guest version of the MirrorOp software, for Windows and Mac. The Installer file will install the MirrorOp software. However, the Guest file will work as a double-click shortcut to launch MirrorOp, without software installation, connecting straight to the particular wePresent where you downloaded the file from. Because the Guest file of each individual wePresents is IP-bound, these shortcuts can also be gathered by network managers and offered from any alternative network location.
Frequent Users: Install MirrorOp software
Users that have installed the MirrorOp software will be able to connect to any wePresent in the entire network. The installed version of the MirrorOp software performs a 'Device Discovery scan' at startup, which will list all available wePresents in the VLAN where the user is situated in. For users that regularly work with wePresent, it is recommended to install the MirrorOp software on their Win/Mac computer.
Guest Users: USB Guest Access, or Downloadable Guest Access
A Guest most likely wants to present to one specific wePresent. He will generally not be allowed access to the local network and will not want to install software. In some cases the Guest may already be in a segmented part of the network. The most easy connection for Guests is therefore launching MirrorOp from a USB Plug&Show token, or letting the user run a Guest file, as explained above.
Other Direct-IP Methods:
Besides the downloadable Guest file and USB Plug & Show, there are other "Direct-IP methods" which connect users directly to a specific wePresent with a specific IP address. Because these methods target a specific IP address, they can be used regardless of the VLAN the user is in.
